Senior Wireless Headphones Engineer / Shenzhen

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our ODM partners in Shenzhen to oversee the development, testing, and validation of Active Noise Cancelling and Low Latency Gaming headphones

  • Perform and oversee acoustic measurements of components, subsystems, and final assemblies and perform a thorough analysis of results

  • Assess, Qualify, Develop, and manage Suppliers and Supplier Manufacturing Processes.

  • Work with external partners to evaluate and improve their acoustic test and analysis capabilities

  • Travel to support suppliers, primarily in the southeast China region.

  • Work with Development and Production Engineers to manage and develop the Test Plans, track deliverables and communicate test progress to the product team.

  • Provide engineering support to external Contract Manufacturers and ensure that they meet Crystal Audio guidelines.

  • Create Work Instructions

  • Follow the product Verification process.

  • Keep all Test equipment and software setup updated and verified.

  • Ensure the Production team follows all internal Test procedures and all Test Metrics are under target.

  • Perform initial problem determination and diagnosis when issues arise, and track defects against those problems

  • Supports audio system design, conducts audio performance evaluation and tuning of our models

  • Conduct component-level acoustic evaluation as needed.

  • Design and development of Audio DSP algorithms and software for audio products.

  • Participate in regular design critique sessions in which we review ongoing work and push each other to make everything better

  • Manage Spare Parts inventory, samples under development, and Golden samples.

  • Regularly report to engineers, product managers, and others regarding the products' development plan and field reports.

  • Manage priorities and workload effectively to meet all deadlines

  • Set accurate estimates on delivery expectations and update the production team regularly

  • Manage the filing structure and archiving of all projects on OneDrive, ensuring files are up to date, clearly labeled, and easy to find

  • Be willing to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travel.

  • Ensure all projects meet the intended design and quality specs, and "it is Crystal Audio."

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing high-performance wireless headphones

  • Degree in Acoustical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent (M.S. preferred)

  • Proficient in acoustic test equipment from B&K, GRAS, Audio Precision, National Instruments, Listen Inc. (SoundCheck), and others.

  • Experience developing products with Bluetooth and/or other wireless technologies

  • Experience with active noise cancellation technology

  • Solid understanding of headphone acoustic structures and enclosure/porting design

  • Experience specifying requirements for acoustic components, drivers, microphones, and acoustic meshes

  • Fluent in Chinese/Mandarin and English

  • Experience in solving EMC, safety, and other certification-related issues.

  • Able to apply the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) principles in the design and implementation of Audio DSP algorithms and software.

  • Experienced in setting up project schedules and work breakdown structures of product development cycles

Senior Acoustic Engineer / Guangzhou

Responsibilities

  • Lead effort to establish and maintain acoustic test infrastructure capabilities for polar response measurements

  • Use Clio 10-12 or ARTA 1.9 to create CLIO 3D Ballons or EASE 3D Ballons • Collaborate with Crystal Audio team members and ODM partners to oversee the development, testing, and validation of innovative state-of-the-art Wireless speakers, Soundbars with 3D-Sound, and professional line-array speakers

  • Perform driver and system testing to characterize and document transducer performance, including power handling, impedance, transfer function, and frequency/polar response in 360 degrees.

  • Perform and oversee acoustic measurements of components, subsystems, and final assemblies and perform a thorough analysis of results

  • Work with Development and Production Engineers to manage and develop the Test Plans, track deliverables and communicate test progress to the product team.

  • Provide engineering support to external Contract Manufacturers and ensure that they meet Crystal Audio guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize research, aesthetic trends, and production processes to generate new concepts that possess the visual brand character and user experience of our products.
